Huntington Beach, Bra Crawl

This year’s annual pub crawl for charity took downtown by storm January 28th 2012. From 11am-2pm, bars downtown were crowded with pub crawlers boozin’ for boobs. This year the pub crawl benefitted the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Charity Pub crawls have been taking place downtown since 2005. Previous pub crawls have benefitted Children of Fallen Solders Relief Fund, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, HB Long Board Crew and the HB Surf Museum. This years participants included: Beach Front 301, Aloha Grill, Longboards, Sharkeez, Killarney’s, HB Beer Co., RA Sushi Bar, Fred’s, Gallahger’s, and Black Bull Chop House. Previous years had included Hurricane’s Bar, but this year the charity group decided to boycott Hurricane’s this year due to poor treatment in the past events.

How the pub crawl works is that a percentage of each restaurants special drink menus are donated to the charity of the year. Shirts and raffle tickets are also sold to raise money for charity. Not only do raffle tickets benefit the charity, but one lucky person gets a great prize. This year’s raffle prizes included a longboard and $100 cash! This year the pub crawl raised $7300 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
